Valencia is becoming one of the most exciting places to live and invest in Spain. With over 300 sunny days a year, a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle, and home prices still lower than in Madrid or Barcelona, more people are making the move — and investors are paying attention. But why is everyone talking about Valencia? This article will give you the breakdown including the best neigborhoods to discover or buy a home.

At My Blue Bricks, we know the city well. Here is a breakdown to help you determine which neighborhoods are worth exploring, which ones remain affordable, and where we’re already investing in the future.

Why Valencia?

Valencia isn’t just beautiful, it’s an amazing place to live. Imagine Sundays at the beach, paella by the sea, bike rides through the city park, and coffee in charming neighborhoods. But it’s also:

  • More affordable than other big Spanish cities
  • Great for remote workers and tech professionals
  • Strong rental demand, both short and long term
  • A growing city with lots of new development

The neighborhoods: what’s hot & what’s next

Ruzafa
Trendy, full of life, great restaurants and nightlife. Prices are high, but perfect for lifestyle buyers. It’s like Valencia’s version of Brooklyn.

One of our favorite places in Ruzafa is DDL Boutique. A perect bakery for the best coffee, breakfast, and cakes!

El Cabanyal
Next to the beach, full of old charm and character. This area is becoming more popular every year. We have units here, designed for young professionals and digital nomads.

A tip from us! Visit their market on Thursday mornings. It’s very big and the best place for cheap jewelry, clothes and other things.

Torrefiel
A hidden gem in the north of Valencia. Still affordable, with growing interest from buyers. We’re building modern, affordable units here for first-time and smart homebuyers.

El Puig (just outside Valencia)
A peaceful beach town only 20 minutes from the city. Great for families or anyone wanting more space and quiet. We are going to build villas here for long-term living.

Benimaclet
A mix of students, families, and artists. It has a local vibe and prices are still reasonable. It’s changing quickly.

Benimaclet Tip: Head to Café Museu for a cozy local vibe, great coffee, and live music nights. It’s where students, artists, and neighbors all come together.

Patraix
Quiet, family-friendly, and slowly growing in popularity. Still affordable and a solid place if you’re looking to rent long-term.

Our tip: Bar Ricardo. This place is very well-known local —not technically deep in Patraix but super close and 100% worth the detour. Famous for bravas, calamares, and clóchinas (Valencian mussels in season).

Malilla / Quatre Carreres
Close to the City of Arts & Sciences and full of new construction. These areas are changing fast and are great for rental investment.

Port Saplaya
Nicknamed “Little Venice”, Port Saplaya is a colorful seaside village just north of Valencia. With its canals, pastel houses, and marina views, it’s one of the most unique residential areas in the region.

Tip: Rent a bike and go there by bike, it’s only a 40 min ride!
